Article 5101:2-12-34 of the Ohio
Administrative Code lists the following standards concerning maximum
number of children per staff member. The state requires one childcare
staff for:
- Every 5 infants, who are less than twelve
months old, except those two staff members in the same room may care
for 12 infants who are less than twelve months old.
- Every 6 infants who are at least twelve
months old, but less than eighteen months old.
- Every 7 toddlers who are at least
eighteen months old, but less than thirty months old.
- Every 8 toddlers who are at least thirty
months old, but less than three years old.
- Every 12 preschool children who are three
years old.
- Every 14 preschool children who are four
years old or five years old, who are not school children.
- Every 18 school children who are less
than eleven years old.
When there is a combination of ages within a
group of children, the age of the youngest child shall determine the
maximum number of children per childcare staff member; except that when no
more than one child thirty months of age or older receives care in a group
in which all other children are in the next older age group, the maximum
number of children per staff member requirements of the older group shall
apply.
Kiddieland will observe these rules at all
times.
