Safety/Supervision Information
  • A staff members in charge of a child or a group of children shall be responsible for their safety.
  • NO CHILD SHALL EVER BE LEFT ALONE OR UNATTENDED.
  • All children must be escorted into Kiddieland and a childcare staff member made aware of their presence in the center.
  • A parent or authorized person(s) must sign in the children when they arrive and sign them out when they leave.  If not signed out, a phone call will be made to ensure the child is safely at home.
  • If your child arrives at Kiddieland from another program, public school or Shelby Hills, it is the parent's responsibility to contact our center if the child will be absent.
  • No aerosol spray cans will be allowed in the center.
  • The parent shall notify a child care staff member when arriving to pick up the child.  The staff member will then release the child to the parent.
  • All childcare staff members are aware of fire and weather emergency procedures, as well as serious injury or illness guidelines.  A copy is posted in each classroom.  An incident report will be made if illness, accident, or injury requires first aid treatment, bump to head, emergency transport, and an unexpected event which jeopardizes the safety of children or staff.  If an emergency evacuation is necessary, the children will be transported to the Northtowne Church, 2008 Wapakoneta Ave.
  • Fire drills are conducted at various times.
  • A phone is readily available when needed.
  • An incident report is filled out on each incident.  One copy must be signed by the parent and is placed in our files.  A second copy is given to the parent at their request.
  • No baby bottles will be warmed in the microwave oven.
  • Water play and use of wading pools will be part of summer activity.   Written permission from parents will be required annually.  At least two adults will be present for any outdoor activity.
  • Staff will review swimming safety rules before each swim trip.
  • The center shall provide outdoor play each day in suitable weather for Toddlers-School Age children.  No outdoor activities shall take place in rain or temperatures below 30 degrees.
  • Any custody agreements shall be made known to the administrator before enrollment.  Copies of agreement shall be kept on file at the center.
